PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermally stabilized perpendicular magnetic recording medium. SOLUTION: In the perpendicular magnetic recording medium provided with a perpendicular magnetic recording film between a lower part film and an upper part film, the medium is characterized in that thickness of the vertical magnetic recording medium t1, t2 satisfy a relation formula (A) (Figures are assumed to a relation formula (A)). Since K is large in such the vertical recording medium and the perpendicular magnetic recording film having the prescribed thickness being thermally stabilized even when its energy barrier does not depend on KV is included, written data can be preserved securely for a long period of ten years or more.
