PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light detector capable of detecting the optical path position of invisible light, such as infrared light, and that has resolution improved. SOLUTION: This infrared light detector 1 has a body part 2, and a glass light guide body 3 as a vibrator wherein a tip part 3a side is projected from the left side face 2a of the body part 2. The inside of the body part 2 is installed with a rotary slider stepping motor 21 driving the light guide body 3 in the X-axis direction, and a drive coil 31 vibrating the light guide body 3 in the Y-axis direction. When infrared light is incident on the tip part 3a during scanning inside a light-detecting area by the tip part 3a; and when the infrared light is propagated by the light guide body 3 and is incident on a light-receiving element, a light-emitting diode emits visible light. The visible light propagates by the light guide body 3 and is emitted from the tip part 3a. Because the position of the infrared light, that is invisible light is displayed as a luminescence residual image of the visible light emitted from the tip part 3a in a light-detecting area, the optical path position of the infrared light can be recognized visually.
