An electronic device, a time information acquiring method and a time information acquisition processing program, which can acquire time information more efficiently even in case the time information is lost when the power supply from a backup power source is not made. The electronic device comprises timing means for performing a timing action when it receives the power supply from an external power source. The electronic device further comprises power source restoration detecting means for detecting, after the power source supply from the external power source was lost, the restoration of the power supply, and time information acquiring means for performing an acquiring operation to acquire the time information from an external device in case the restoration of the power supply is detected by the power source restoration detecting means.
