ANTENNA ASSEMBLY AND WIRELESS COMMUNICATION SYSTEM EMPLOYING SAME

An antenna assembly comprising a substrate, a ground conductor provided on the rear surface of the substrate, a partially hollowed radiation conductor provided on the surface of the substrate, a ground terminal provided at the hollowed portion of the radiation conductor, a conductor connected with the ground conductor and the ground terminal, and a feeding terminal connected with the radiation conductor, wherein the ground terminal and the feeding terminal are connected to an IC chip. Consequently, there can be realized an antenna assembly wherein feeding through an IC chip is possible. This antenna assembly operates sufficiently on a metal plate. A wireless communication system employing such an antenna assembly is also provided.
