IMPROVED MECHANISM FOR UMBRELLAS AND PARASOLS

The invention relates to an improved mechanism for umbrellas and parasols, of the type that is equipped with a set of fabric-support rods at the upper end of a pole, which can pivot under the action of a set of push rods. According to the invention, one end of each push rod is articulated to the corresponding fabric-support rod, in the central segment thereof approximately, while the other end of each push rod is articulated to a ring that can move along the length of the pole. The invention is essentially characterised in that the mechanism is equipped with safety rods comprising: one end which is articulated to a second moving ring that moves along the pole in a segment between the first ring to which the push rods are articulated and the position of the shafts used to articulate the fabric-support rods; and an opposing end which is articulated to the outer zone of the rods that support the protective fabric.
