The method involves receiving a content broadcast request comprising data to determine a time slot and a constant bit rate required for the broadcast in a data transmission medium. A maximum value of a previously planned total bit rate is estimated by calculating a value taken by the previously planned rate at a starting instant of the required slot or a starting instant of a time slot of a previously planned content broadcast. The request is accepted if the estimated value is less than a maximum capacity of the transmission medium.
