Microparticles of glycopyrrolate for the treatment of respiratory diseases

Use of glycopyrrolates for the manufacture of a medicament suitable for inhalation, for the treatment of a disease of the airways by once daily dosing is disclosed, (wherein the medicament may comprise discrete particles, each comprising glycopyrrolates held within a hydrophobic matrix material). A dry powder formulation for pulmonary delivery or inhalation, which contains microparticles of glycopyrrolates is also described. To improve the moisture resistance, and to also improve the storage stability of this formulation, magnesium stearate is used in this formulation. One of the features of this dry powder is that a high fine particle dosage or fine particle fraction can be maintained also under relatively extreme temperature and humidity conditions.
