The mechanism has a tang (7) including a leaf spring (15) which exerts a force (E) for immobilizing a leaf (26) of locking units against a fixed stop (B), in opening and locking positions of the tang in a handle. The locking units consist of a clamping lever (19) and a cam (28). The tang has two notches (8, 9) arranged on its side and cooperating with two rods (16, 17). An independent claim is also included for a knife having a knife blade fixing mechanism.
