The machine (1) has driving units to drive a testpiece (35) in a to and fro movement along a main axis (P) of the testpiece. Unwinding units unwind a sandpaper (52) to contact the testpiece. A micropiston (62) thrusts the paper against the testpiece and encloses a sensor which determines a force exerted by the micropiston on the paper. Internal or external units of the micropiston allow adjustment of the force to a preset value.
