The method involves placing a drill (11) at the level of a work zone of a machining side of a panel (2). A supporting unit (13) is placed at the level of a support zone that is situated on a supporting side opposite to the machining side, and situated opposite to the work zone. The drill in use and the unit (13) are moved jointly, to maintain the support and work zones in opposition for machining a part of the machining side. An independent claim is also included for a device for machining a panel.
