An air purification apparatus includes a drip chamber 20 for receiving tap water at 21 that drips off drip points 27 into reservoir 23, and a nozzle 30 that receives water from the outlet 24 of the drip chamber and sprays the water onto the metal tray 31. The water runs down the slope of the tray and is collected in a collection vessel. Either the nozzle 30 or the tray 31 is connected to a source of DC voltage (45 volts) to charge the sprayed water to assist the collection of air pollutants and dust into the water. The drip chamber electrically insulates the water flowing to the nozzle from the tap water source.
