A noncontact sensor in which the detection signal of a voltage sensor disposed in a container is prevented from becoming extremely small by connecting a conductive water film layer formed by thunderstorm, or the like, on the outer surface of the insulating cover of the container containing the noncontact sensor electrically with the earth so that it has the earth potential. The noncontact sensor in which a plate electrode insulated from the earth is contained in the container consisting of a container body opening on one side and an insulating cover for hermetically sealing the opening of the container body, the cover side is disposed oppositely to the charged part, e.g. wires, of an overhead line, and the voltage at the charged part is detected by detecting a voltage being induced in the plate electrode by spatial charges between the charged part and the plate electrode in the container, characterized in that the cover is made of fluororesin, e.g. PTFE. |
