The invention relates to a process for preparing highly pure raffinate and methyl-tert-butyl ether employed for producing fuel components. According to the invention, the process consists in that, in a first stage, in one or more reactors, isobutene is reacted with methanol, in the presence of an acid catalyst, to form an equilibrium mixture containing methyl-tert-butyl ether, isobutene residues and methanol; in a second stage, the equilibrium mixture is supplied to a reactive distillation column wherein the isobutene residues react with methanol over an ion exchange resin to form methyl-tert-butyl ether, the reactive distillation column being operated at a pressure ranging from 3 to 15 bar and at a reaction zone temperature ranging from 55 to 75 C, at a reflux ratio of less than 1. |
