[Also in Division B8] In an extrusion-blow moulding process the continuously formed extrudate is embraced by a succession of mould halves on endless conveyers. The blowing gas, e.g. air is supplied through a conduit in the extruder head and a filling material, e.g. a liquid is also supplied through a conduit passing through the extruder head. Air is also passed through a third conduit in the extruder head to prevent collapse of the extrudate on to the blowing pipe. The air supply conduit is reciprocably mounted and the filling conduit may be similarly mounted. The blown container is sealed before removal from the mould. |
