PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device which hardly causes breakage of a liquid crystal display panel due to disengagement between a surface frame and a shielding cover without involving the increase of component number and the complication of assembling operation. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device is provided with a surface frame BZL, a backlight unit BLU fitted to the surface frame, a liquid crystal display panel DP of which the peripheral part is held between a front plate FP and the backlight unit BLU, a printed circuit board PCB connected with the liquid crystal display panel and a shielding cover SC. A hook part HK1 or HK2 is disposed on one side of a side surface SP1a of the surface frame BZL and a side surface plate SP2a of the shielding cover SC, and the other side of them is hooked by the hook part HK1 or HK2. An overlapping part of the side surface plates SP1a and SP2a comprises a first part corresponding to the hook part HK1 or HK2, a second part adjacent to the first part, and a third part having an arrangement of the side surface plates SP1a and SP2a reverse to the arrangement thereof in the second part.
