PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cloth side plate for a wall paper pasting machine which enables centered setting of cloth even when the core of the cloth is crushed and which can fix the center of an original material roll and can feed the cloth stably to a machine main body without slackening. SOLUTION: The cloth side plates in a pair hold respectively the opposite side ends of the original material roll letting out a sheetlike wall covering material, which is led inward from pinch rollers positioned at a lead-in opening in the back part of the main body of the pasting machine and fed to the front part of the main body, with the back pasted by a pasting roller provided inside the main body. The plates are provided with a side plate main body which holds one of the opposite side ends of the original material roll of which the core is put through on a cloth core rod laid horizontally at the back part of the machine main body, a tapered member which is provided in projection on the core side of the roll put on the core rod and has symmetrical slants around the axis of the core rod, and a fixing means which fixes either the side plate main body or the tapered member at a predetermined position of the core rod.
