PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simply and correctly display designated study accompanying collected volume data on a monitoring screen without showing information on all slices forming the volume data. SOLUTION: The image display device is equipped with a mean to preserve image data on each study collected by a medical modality from a subject and its supplementary information, a mean to display information list of the inspection on the basis of supplementary information, a means to select an arbitrary inspection from the information list displayed on a monitor according to the designated information and a means to show cumulated information indicating the presence of the volume data corresponding to the selected inspection and included in the image data (in a thumbnail of single line list or a representative slice).
