PROCESS FOR PRODUCING A BEDDING MATERIAL WHICH ABSORBS ANIMAL WASTE, IN PARTICULAR LIQUID ANIMAL WASTE, FOR DOMESTIC ANIMALS

A process is disclosed for producing a bedding material which absorbs animal waste, in particular liquid animal waste. According to this process, grains of a porous granulate with an apparent density of less than 900 g/l are mixed with an absorbent material, if required with admixture of liquid, then dried, so that the resulting two-layered grains have a core made of the porous granulate and a sheath made of the absorbent material, the thickness of the coating made of absorbent material ranging from about 0.1 to 3 mm.
