The arrangement has an exhaust gas cooler (2) and a charge air cooler for cooling recirculated exhaust gas and charge air, respectively. A condensate separator (3) includes a turbulence generator, which staggers the exhaust gas or the charge air into rotation, so that a part of the condensate droplet is deposited at a wall. The separator is arranged directly after the exhaust gas cooler. An independent claim is also included for a method of operating a turbocharger of a motor vehicle with an internal combustion engine.
