<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-luminous road stud which can stably obtain high visibility in the daytime, without reference to a state of a surrounding road surface subjected to the embedment of the self-luminous road stud and even in the case of a change in the brightness of the surrounding environment. <P>SOLUTION: An element most greatly affecting the visibility is the brightness of an object. Since a difference between brightness in a view from above in the extinction of the self-luminous road stud 10 and the brightness of light emitted from a luminous element 3 is set great enough to reach an L-value of 20 or more, the brightness in the emission of the light and the brightness in the extinction of the light noticeably differ from each other.
