PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automate the update of license management information at the time of replacing a management object device, and to reduce the man-hours of software license management and a time related with license management when the management object device breaks down, and to shorten a system down time. SOLUTION: This management object device prepares a hash value for the combined data of user name, serial number for software management, and the device unique information of a management object device, and compares the hash value with a hash value returned from a local license management server, and only when those hash values are matched, software is considered to be license-continued, and made to keep operating. When it is necessary to replace the management object device due to failure, a local license management server returns the hash value for the new device after replacing as software license confirmation information, based on the relation of the device unique information and the operation environment information before the device breaks down.
