PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for plating composed of a syndiotactic polystyrene resin composition and excellent in platability to provide a specular appearance, heat resistance and high mechanical strength, and to provide a specular-gloss plated molding using the same. SOLUTION: The resin composition for plating comprises a base material composed of (A) a styrene polymer having a syndiotactic structure and (B) a rubber-like elastic body, wherein the mass ratio of the (A) component to the (B) component (A)/(B) is 100/0-60/40, and (C) wollastonite in an amount of 30-80 mass% relative to the sum of the (A), (B) and (C) components, and has a heat deflection temperature at a load of 0.46 MPa of 150°C or higher.
