PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a connector small in size and of light weight and low cost. SOLUTION: The female connector 1 is provided with a female terminal fitting 3 which is housed in a terminal housing hole 21 of the female housing 2. The female terminal fitting 3 has a connection part 31 to be engaged with a male terminal fitting 52 and an insulation barrel 33 which is formed at its back and caulked to the insulation cover of an electric wire 4. The inner wall 21b at the rear end part of the female housing 2 surrounding the insulation barrel 33 is expanded toward the lower part and is formed larger than the inner wall 21c at the front portion housing the connection part 31, and the lower outer circumference face 26 of the female housing 2 has a projected part 27 protruded to the lower side at the portion surrounding the insulation barrel 33.
