PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the steep jumping-out of a disk cartridge from a cassette holder during ejection by surely holding the disk cartridge in a reproducing direction. SOLUTION: The disk player for playing disks housed in disk cartridges 220 and 221 is provided with a cassette holder 4 adapted to insert the disk cartridge into a mechanical chassis 1 to which a playing part having a disk table 12 and a pickup device 13 is attached, to eject the inserted disk cartridge, to approach the mechanical chassis 1 when the disk housed in the disk cartridge is played, and to move apart from the mechanical chassis 1 when the disk cartridge is inserted or ejected, a holding plate 6 moved associatively with the insertion or ejection of the disk cartridge from the cartridge holder 4, and a holding projection 117 disposed in the holding plate 6 and having elasticity to be engaged with an engaging recess 212 disposed in the disk cartridge.
