PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possioble to adjust a tilt angle of an optical pickup into the tilt angle that an error rate of a RF signal read out from an optical disk by an optical pickup becomes the minimum. SOLUTION: Only focus servo control is operated without operating tracking servo control, a tilt angle is changed by varying drive voltage of a tilt coil, a tilt angle at which a signal level of a tracking error signal detected by an optical pickup becomes the maximum is detected, focus servo control and tracking servo control are operated, a tilt angle is changed by varying drive voltage of a tilt coil, information data recorded in an adjustment address recorded in an optical disk by the optical pickup is read, a tilt angle at which a signal level of a RF signal of the read information data becomes the maximum is detected, a tilt angle of the optical pickup is adjusted to a tilt angle being intermediate of the tilt angle at which the signal level of the tracking error signal becomes the maximum and the tilt angle at which the signal level of the RF signal becomes the maximum.
