PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jaw position measuring instrument having high measurement precision, a sensor unit used therefor and a jaw position measuring method. SOLUTION: The jaw position measuring instrument 1 is used for measuring the relative position between the upper jaw and the lower jaw. The jaw position measuring instrument 1 is provided with a marker magnet 2 to be fixed to the lower jaw, the sensor unit 3 to be fixed to the upper jaw and comprising a plurality of magnetic sensors 31 disposed facing the marker magnet 2, a computing part calculating the relative position between the upper jaw and the lower jaw, and a display part displaying the computing result. The sensor unit 3 is formed by disposing the plurality of magnetic sensors in the jaw opening/closing direction. The respective magnetic sensors 31 detect the magnetic components in the disposal direction. The magnetic axis of the marker magnet 2 and the disposal direction of the magnetic sensors 31 orthogonally cross with each other. The computing part selects two magnetic sensors 31 positioned in the both sides of the magnetic axis of the marker magnet 2 and calculates the relative position of the upper jaw and the lower jaw based on their sensor outputs.
