PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processor, a control method for the same and a program, by which a thorax can be detected easily and precisely. SOLUTION: Several characteristic points relative to the thorax of a subject are detected from a radiation image. Several landmarks are detected among positions of the detected several characteristic points. The several characteristic points are connected by interpolation between the detected several characteristic points and the several landmarks and the connected image is detected as the thorax.
