PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a shift response, by shortening shift time, while reducing a shift shock, in an engine having a transmission. SOLUTION: This constitution controls engine output torque by making a feedback process so that an engine speed becomes a target engine speed (a synchronous engine speed) after a downshift. While feedback control includes at least proportional control and differential control, the differential control is stopped until a deviation between the synchronous engine speed and an actual engine speed becomes a predetermined value or less, and the differential control is performed when the deviation becomes the predetermined value or less.
