PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a processing time when digital terrestrial broadcasting is received and preset is executed by seeking processing or scanning processing. SOLUTION: When the seeking processing or the scanning processing is started, the band confinement of an IF signal IF0 is performed by a narrow band filter 15b decided to be a narrow passband width BWb corresponding to a part for three segments. The level value is obtained in such a manner that a level detection unit 17 makes the level detection of the spectral power of the passed narrow band through signal IFb, and compared with a predetermined threshold. When the threshold is larger, the level detection unit 17 judges that the analog television broadcasting is received, and removes from the object of the seeking or scanning processing. When the level value is larger, it is judged that the digital broadcasting is received. A controller 18 judges the quality of the receiving state according to the data PER of the packet error rate outputted from a post stage 16 which performs demodulation processing, etc. When it judges that the receiving state is good, the channel frequency of the received digital broadcasting is preset.
