PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize a slide type portable information terminal in a closed state or an opened state, and to prevent the opening/closing from being left halfway. SOLUTION: The portable information terminal 1 comprises a body 2 provided with an operation part 212 and a lid 3 connected to the body 2 so as to be freely slid from a state superposed to the operation part side of the body 2 along the operation part 212. Since an energization spring 45 for energizing the lid 3 in a direction for maintaining the closed state in the closed state that the lid 3 is superposed to the body 2 and energizing the lid 3 in a direction for maintaining the opened state in the opened state that the lid 3 is slid from the body 2 is attached to the connection part between the body 2 and the lid 3, the portable information terminal can be fixed into the closed state or the opened state.
