PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transfer method which prevents access from un unspecified user and reliably transfers data to a specific user. SOLUTION: When a first terminal of a first user transfers data to a second terminal of a second user through a server on a communication network, the server, according to transmission request access from the first terminal, provides, to the first terminal, a list of partner users including the second user to whom the first user can transmit, the first terminal selects the second user from the partner users included in the list and transmits data for the second user to the server. The server, on receiving the data, stores the data so that only the second terminal can access the data, and transmits data to the second terminal according to reception request access from the second terminal.
