PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hydraulically ascending/descending place of refuge from a tsunami, which enables inhabitants near a shore to take rapid refuge on the occurrence of a tsunami, which can ensure sufficient safety even on the occurrence of the high tsunami, and which enables even an aged person, a child, etc. to take the easy and rapid refuge. SOLUTION: This hydraulically ascending/descending place of the refuge from the tsunami comprises a refuge base which is provided on the ground, and a support which is driven into the ground so as to support the refuge base at a predetermined height.
