PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing device, capable of simplifying the constitution by reducing the number of detecting means used for detecting printed matter in printing to the printed matter. SOLUTION: A detection sensor 13 is provided at a corresponding position close to a circumferential edge part on the upstream side in the carrying direction including a position right under the center of an optical disc D when the optical disc D is disposed at a prescribed position in a device main body 2. Disposition of the optical disc D to the prescribed position prior to printing, and the position where carrying of the optical disc D is started are thus detected by the single detection sensor 13.
