Disclosed are a hydraulically actuated casting unit and a check valve that is suitable therefor, is embodied as a two/two-way seat valve, and can be penetrated in only one direction from an inlet to an outlet. A main piston of the directional seat valve is configured with several control areas which can be impinged upon by control pressure in a first position via a randomly actuated pilot valve of a pilot control of the check valve in such a way that the main piston is maintained in a closed state. The control areas of the main piston are impinged upon by pressure in a second position of the pilot valve such that the main piston can be raised from the seat thereof by means of the pressure prevailing at the inlet provided that the pressure prevailing at the outlet of the check valve is lower than the inlet pressure.
