Reinforcing filled plastics formulations with second plastics component, by supplying higher melting reinforcing component during extrusion of base formulation to form fibrous reinforcement

In a method for reinforcing filled plastics formulations (A) with a second plastics (B) in the melt, (A) contains at least 40% filler, (B) has m.pt. at least 20 (preferably more than 25)[deg]C higher than that of the base plastics in (A) and (B) is pressed into the melt in an extruder which (A) is extruded, between the tool and the extruder inlet (specifically through inlet openings extending into the melt). An independent claim is included for apparatus for injecting a high-melting plastics mass into a high filler content plastics base composition, consisting of a basic extruder with openings between the tool and the extruder inlet through which a melt can be supplied under pressure, the openings being such that fibrous reinforcement is formed.
