<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for exhausting efficiently the unnecessary gas remaining in an anode system passage at the time of starting a fuel cell system. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system comprises a supply passage for introducing a fuel gas supplied from a fuel gas supply source into a fuel cell, an exhaust passage for exhausting the fuel exhaust gas from the fuel cell, a circulation passage which is connected to the exhaust passage and the supply passage and circulates the fuel exhaust gas from the exhaust passage to the supply passage, a pump installed in the circulation passage, and a purge valve which is installed in the exhaust passage at a first connecting part with the circulation passage or at a position on the downstream side to the flow of the fuel exhaust gas flowing in the exhaust passage than the first connecting part and exhausts the fuel exhaust gas. In controlling the fuel cell system and when the fuel gas is supplied from the gas supply source to the supply passage at the time of starting the fuel cell, the pump is driven so as to introduce the supplied fuel gas into the exhaust passage through the circulation passage and the purge valve is opened. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
