<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an anode material realizing a high charge/discharge capacity and charge/discharge efficiency as well as a nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery using the anode. <P>SOLUTION: The anode material contains a carbonaceous material having a diffraction peak between 2θ diffraction angles of 30 to 32° in an X-ray (CuKα) powder diffraction pattern. In order to manufacture the anode material, at least one kind selected from coffee beans, tea leaves, sugarcane, maize, fruit, straw, and chaff, or, crystalline cellulose or fibrous cellulose with at least a kind out of a metal element, phosphorus and sulfur added is baked and carbonized. The anode material is used as a carbonaceous anode material in the nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery equipped with a cathode made of lithium complex oxide and an anode made of a carbonaceous anode material capable of doping/dedoping lithium ion as an anode active material. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
