PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure airtightness and maintain the proper tension of a diaphragm by securely avoiding the displacement and looseness of an installed diaphragm while reducing manufacturing cost by a simple structure in a pulsing type diaphragm fuel pump. SOLUTION: The overlapped part of a pump body with a diaphragm cover comprises an engagement structure having an engagement recessed part 30 annularly recessed in one end face and an engagement projected part 140 annularly projected from the other end face having the roughly same cross section as that of the engagement recessed part 30 and engaged with the engagement recessed part 30 on both sides of the diaphragm 2. The diaphragm 2 is formed in a flat plate shape without beads. When the pump body 3 is joined to the diaphragm cover 14, the peripheral edge part of the diaphragm 2 is held by the engagement structure to extend the diaphragm in a centrifugal direction and fix while a prescribed tension is imparted to the diaphragm.
