PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spiral hot wastewater heat exchanger capable of efficiently carrying out the cleaning of a spiral pipe interior without stopping operation.

SOLUTION: In the spiral hot wastewater heat exchanger having spiral pipes arranged in a plurality of rows in a spiral passage formed of a spiral partition plate arranged between an upper plate and a lower plate, high temperature water is communicated through the spiral pipes, and low temperature water is communicated through the spiral passage. It is characterized in that a ball cleaning device is provided in each of one and the other of the spiral pipes.
