PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent liquid from penetrating a machine from a joint between its control panel or the like and its top plate. SOLUTION: The front-load laundry washing or drying machine is provided with an outer casing, the top plate which defines the outer casing on its top and an instrument panel or the control panel arranged on the front top of the outer casing. The top plate and the control panel define the boundary between them along their ends which demarcates a joint extending lengthwise or broadwise. A groove-like means in convex shape whose upside is open is arranged under the inner end of the joint and opposite to the joint, to be concrete, opposite to the inner end of the joint.
