PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric reel for fishing, equipped with a speed change device which is easily built in a reel body and changed over between low-speed drive and high-speed drive with a simple structure. SOLUTION: This electric reel for fishing 1 has a drive motor 10, a speed reduction mechanism 63, and the speed change device 19, wherein the drive motor 10 rotates and drives a spool 7 freely rotatably supported on the reel body 4, the speed reduction mechanism 63 reduces rotating and driving force from the drive motor 10 and transmits the reduced force to the spool 7, and the speed change device 19 is equipped with a plurality of power transmission mechanisms having gear ratios different from one another and changes a rotational speed of the spool 7 by selectively making any one of the plurality of the power transmission mechanisms conduct power transmission.
