<p>Provided is a method of processing wood which allows readily forming of a wood product as well as granting of a suitable strength over a whole area of the wood product. In a first compression process, plural wooden pieces(111, 112), that are taken out from uncompressed raw wood so that the wood pieces are larger in volume than finished pieces by an amount to be decreased by compression, are compressed separately in water vapor atmosphere in high temperature and high pressure. In a following second compression process, the plural wooden pieces after the separate compression in the first compression process are placed one on another according to a predetermined order and compressed together. In each compression process, the wooden pieces are subjected to compressing force for a predetermined time period followed by release from the water vapor atmosphere and drying.</p> |
