PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte having superior voltage resistance and lithium ionic conductivity equal to that of the conventional nonaqueous electrolyte, and to provide a secondary battery and a secondary battery system, both equipped with the nonaqueous electrolyte.

SOLUTION: The nonaqueous electrolyte for the lithium secondary battery contains at least one kind of aromatic compounds polymerizable at 4.2-4.5 V of the potential of a working electrode, when metallic lithium is used as the counter electrode with respect to the platinum working electrode.
