PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for performing proper PM forced regeneration processing in response to an oxidation rate of PM collected in a particulate filter.
SOLUTION: This invention is an exhaust emission control device of an internal combustion engine for performing the PM forced regeneration processing of the particulate filter with every predetermined period; and is characterized by setting the target filter temperature when performing the PM forced regeneration processing to the temperature (Temp1) lower than the temperature (Temp2) capable of oxidizing the PM of a low oxidation rate, when a PM collection quantity (ΣPMp) of a high oxidation rate part is much and a PM collection quantity (ΣPMf) of the low oxidation rate part is little when starting the performance of the PM forced regeneration processing, by respectively arithmetically operating the PM quantity (ΣPMp) collected in the high oxidation rate part of the particulate filter and a PM quantity (ΣPMf) collected in the low oxidation rate part.
COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
