PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an OCR recognition processor capable of achieving high-speed processing while keeping costs from rising. SOLUTION: The OCR recognition processor 100 for performing an OCR recognition process for documents includes a CCD 131 provided on a document feed path 130 for reading a particular portion (target of the OCR recognition process) of each document to create image data; a plurality of recognition process parts 141 for performing the process of recognizing the image data; and a plurality of ejection pockets 170 into which the documents are ejected after the recognition process. The recognition process part performs a destination determining process for determining the destination to which documents are to be ejected, by recognizing a particular portion of the image data, prior to an OCR recognition process whereby OCR recognition of all the image data is carried out. Also, the recognition process part implements in parallel the destination determining process in at least one recognition process part and the OCR recognition process in the at least one recogition process part.
