PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sensor capable of collecting data used for measuring a target three-dimensional shape with relatively simple circuitry (circuit scale is reduced). SOLUTION: In a matrix of photodetectors 10 constituting the sensor, the output of the photodetectors 10 belonging to the same column is connected to the same signal line 12. The output of each photodetector 10 is read in the signal line 12, in the order starting from the left to the right by scan of a horizontal scanning circuit 14 during a short horizontal scan period, to the degree where the slit light of an optical cutting method is substantially considered as the stop state. A position detection section 18 determines the period, from the start time of the horizontal scan period to a detection of the maximum peak of the signal on the signal line 12. This period indicates the distance from the end on the scan start side of the column to the photodetector 10, having the detected peak of the slit light. A recording processing section 22 records the distance value determined by the position detection section 18, while making it associate with the value of a counter 20 showing the projection angle of the slit light.
