PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a furnace capable of reducing dispersion of characteristics of baked matter baked in the same sheath. SOLUTION: When a sheath 9 is introduced into a baking chamber, compacts W arranged in the sheath are baked. The furnace comprises a gas supply part 21 supplying a reducing gas into the baking chamber, and the gas supply part has a gas supply pipe 23a or the like for supplying the gas into the sheath within the baking chamber, and a plurality of gas outlet ports 25 and the like arranged within a horizontal plane to blow the gas from the gas supply pipe or the like into the sheath.
