<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing the unnecessary end of a foamed rubber roller specially obtaining a fine face on the end face and the core surface of the foamed rubber roller as a function material used therein in consideration of a point desiring high speed and highly fine image formation by improvement of electrophotography. <P>SOLUTION: The method for removing the unnecessary end of a conductive core and the foamed rubber roller covering it includes a process for rotating the foamed rubber roller, a process for performing a notch orthogonal to the conductive core at an unnecessary end position of the foamed rubber roller, a process for bringing a push member contacted continuously into contact with an outer peripheral face of the unnecessary end so as to make a foamed rubber roller long axis of the foamed rubber roller orthogonal, a process for removing the unnecessary end of the foamed rubber roller, and a process for separating the push member after removing the unnecessary end. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
