PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nearβ-type titanium alloy having higher strength than "Ti-17", while suppressing increase in a cost. SOLUTION: The nearβ-type titanium alloy comprises, by wt.%, 0.5 to 7% V, 0.5 to 2.5% Fe, 0.5 to 5% Mo and 0.5 to 5% Cr, while controlling the value of X<SB>V</SB>+2.95X<SB>Fe</SB>+1.5X<SB>Mo</SB>+1.65X<SB>Cr</SB>to 9 to 17%, when X<SB>V</SB>represents, by wt.%, V content, X<SB>Fe</SB>represents Fe content, X<SB>Mo</SB>represents Mo, and X<SB>Cr</SB>represents Cr content, further 3 to 7% Al, and the balance Ti with impurities.
