PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material for treating an epidemic of non-A non-B hepatic virus (NANBV) infection, and to provide a method for the same. SOLUTION: A polypeptide containing a consecutive sequence of at least eight amino acids is provided, wherein the polypeptide has characteristic (1), (2) as follows: (1) the consecutive sequence of the at least eight amino acids contains at least one site, wherein the site can be combined with an antibody against to a hepatitis C virus even in a sequence comprising the consecutive sequence of the at least eight amino acids and in the polypeptide; and (2) the consecutive sequence of the at least eight amino acids is obtained from an amino acid sequence which has one or several deletions, insertions, or substitutions in an amino acid sequence defined in the specification.
